Four Summer Visions Films Screening at Reel 2 Real!

Four short films produced in the 2010 Summer Visions Film Institute have been accepted into the 2011 Reel 2 Real International Film Festival for Youth here in Vancouver! They will be screened as part of the Young Filmmakers Showcase Thursday, April 14th at Vancity theatre.  Congratulations to all the filmmakers for their hard work!

Ambrose — A grieving widower is attacked by and transformed into a vampire, and struggles to adjust to his new lifestyle.  While alive he was tormented by the loss of his lover and now as an immortal he is in search of her forever.  Ambrose is a short film about grief, change, and compulsion.

Ecology A boy who yearns for a better life finds refuge in his dreams.  There he is able to escape his stark reality of fighting parents and a house without food, to his own world with friends and wonder.

Expiry Date A satirical look at the meaninglessness and brevity of fame and celebrity in modern society.  When a young teenager is skyrocketed to stardom for his usual, innocuous behavior, he has to learn to deal with his newfound fame as quickly as it came.

OccurenceA film about obsession and the human need to understand — a young man on his way to work encounters a bizarre situation with no apparent explanation.  He cannot get his mind off of the occurrence and is driven mad in the search for an answer.
