Inpoint.org is a website developed by the Pacific Cinémathèque Education Department that takes you step by step through the filmmaking process. You’ll find information about every phase of production, from fundraising through genres, technical considerations, and distribution. It contains detailed how-tos, downloadable worksheets and sample videos.
Film Schools
Finishing High School soon and thinking about a career in film? There are a number of great schools in BC that can help get you started.
Simon Fraser University — BFA in Film Production: The Program in Film at SFU is the largest and most comprehensive program for the study of the art of film in western Canada. The program combines education in the artistic and technical aspects of film production with an immersion in the scholarly study of film aesthetics and history.
University of British Columbia — Film and Theatre Department: UBC offers degrees in both Film Production and Film Studies, and has strong interdisciplinary ties to the Creative Writing and Theatre programs.

Emily Carr University of Art + Design — Film, Video, and Integrated Media Major: This program offers a studio-based education that explores contemporary practices in media arts.
